Ask yourself how you feel as soon as you open your eyes in the morning. Did you wake up wishing you had 1-2 more hours of sleep? Now, you drop off your kids to their school/day care and you head off to work. You get physically and emotionally drained from your job that you don’t have the same passion for from when you started and then you come home and your child says, “Mommy/Daddy, can you play with me”? What is that first gut feeling you get after your hard day of work? Is it, “sure”!!!! Or, is it, “Oh man, why are they asking me that now? Can’t they see I’m exhausted”?
If Parents actually went to bed on time (10:00-10:30), they would not need the caffeine, sugar, processed garbage food that is the American typical breakfast. Stop the vicious cycle and go to bed on time, eat a balanced proper metabolic typed diet, take time out for yourselves each day, and come home with enough energy to play with your loved ones as you were meant to do. I promise that your kids will love you for it and you will find some lost joy that you may have lost in your own childhood.
